KeyBar makes the original EDC key organizer, and it had been selling it on WooCommerce for over a decade. The store worked. It also carried 875 commits of small fixes, plugin patches, and one-off workarounds stacked on top of each other, and every new change had to be negotiated with all of them first.

A rebuild that never took the store offline

We moved the whole storefront to Shopify on a custom theme built from scratch. The 2026 redesign was built on a separate staging theme while the live theme stayed locked read-only, so nothing in progress could reach the store customers were actually buying from. Selling never paused for the rebuild.

Moving a decade of links

Ten years on one platform means ten years of search results, backlinks, and ad traffic all pointed at URLs that would not exist on the new one. Every page was compared old to new and the move was written down before launch, so that traffic landed where it was supposed to instead of starting over from zero.

KeyBar sells on a theme written for its own catalog now, instead of one held together by a decade of plugin patches. The 2026 redesign is built and sitting on the staging theme, waiting on their word to go.
